Fatima For House District 30

My name is Fatima Dirie, I am a candidate for the Utah State Legislature for District 30. As a child, I came to the United States as a refugee, and eventually found my home here in Utah, where I earned my master's degree in Social Work and work in the Salt Lake City Mayor's office as the Policy Advisor for Refugees and New Americans. I am passionate about advocating for human rights and social justice issues, empowering women and youth to be leaders, and educating people on immigrant and refugee cultures. The last 2 years have presented new challenges for us to face, and I'm so thrilled for the opportunity to tackle those issues together.

In 2020, I ran a historic campaign for the Utah State Legislature, and with the district lines redrawn, I am proud to announce my candidacy for the Utah State House of Representatives in District 30. My campaign is about the people who live in West Valley City. Some of the issues I care deeply about are:

• Improving the health and safety of our community.
• Strengthening our local economy.
• Expanding a bright future for all our children.

I know we can address the critical issues facing our community, but I cannot do it alone. Contributing to my campaign will ensure all voices are heard in the legislature so we can bring about so much needed change for our community.
