Help us purchase flag banners for Nine Mile Canyon Stewardship Day! Dear Friends, We are asking you to help us raise money for flag banners that will be placed along the road through Nine Mile Canyon for Stewardship Day this September. The banners will identify specific sites where the visiting public can stop and learn from professional archaeologists and other experts about the unique archaeology and history of this amazing place. Last year we raised enough money to purchase three banners to help guide travelers into the canyon. This year we hope to raise enough money to purchase eight more banners as site markers to signal to travelers where they can stop and see ancient rock art or other fascinating features and have an opportunity to talk with interpretive hosts. This will be our sixth year hosting Stewardship Day. For the past five years, our site markers were made of paper and we re-made them each year. They did the job, but thank goodness it didn’t rain! With your help, we hope to raise $3,000.00 in three weeks for the flag banners! Nine Mile Canyon Stewardship Day will be held Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 10 am to 6:30 pm. Come out to experience the canyon and see your banners wave proudly in the breeze! Interpretive hosts will be stationed at their sites from 10 am to 4 pm and hands-on activities, displays, and food will happen at Nine Mile Ranch from 2:30 to 6:30 pm. To help purchase the banners, click on this link to donate to Project Discovery, the coordinating group for Stewardship Day. Any donations raised in excess of our goal will go towards costs associated with funding student and teacher participation in Project Discovery. We thank you!
Thank you so much for your donation to Project Discovery! Sincerely, Project Discovery
